She’d whine. She’d cry. She’d even hide when it was time to do her chores.
Then one day something strange happened.
She was asked to take all the garbages out and do you know what?!
She did it.
She didn’t whine. She didn’t cry. She didn’t run and hide.
She just happily did what was asked of her.
What caused this transformation in her?
Consistency.
Every week she was asked to do her chore and despite her efforts to avoid, she had to complete the task with guidance and direction.
Over time, she learned that the chore had to be done and that if she would just complete it, she could move on with her day.
How true is this lesson for all of us? That the little things we do consistently over time become a part of our life.
Long-term organization requires consistent efforts every. single. day.
And it all comes down to making choices. What we do and what we don’t do.
For as we know, our actions form our habits, and our habits form our character.
May we learn from this short tale, that consistency is what will bring many of our ‘happily ever after’ results.
