That’s right!
It’s that time of year again when Christmas seems to sneak upon us like that silly Elf on a Shelf.
But the holidays don’t need to stress you out or cause anxiety, because this year you’re going to be mentally ready for it!.
Tidy Tips for Holiday Shopping
#1 Decide beforehand what kind of holiday season you’d like to have. Would you like to keep things simple? Do you want less stuff and more memories? Would you like more social gatherings? Or perhaps a bigger focus on service? Whatever it is, create a vision of what you’d like to experience this holiday season FIRST!
#2 Stick to the list! If Santa can do it, so can you. Don’t shop on the fly. Try to have a prepared list of specific items or experiences you’d like to give to each family member.
#3 Never buy an un-needed item because it’s on sale. We are suckers for a good sale, even if it’s an item we don’t need. Don’t ‘buy’ into the sales. If it’s an item you have on your list or is an actual need, then by all means, do the happy dance if it’s on sale. But, if it’s not, do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY!
#4 Make sure you get rid of the old item(s) when replacing it with a new one. We have a tendency to add more to the collection, but this is why clutter easily builds. Don’t add more clutter, either replace an old item, or renew/fix an existing item, and make sure that new item has a specific location where you can store it in your home.
#5 Lastly, WE DON’T NEED THINGS TO MAKE US HAPPY. This can be a tricky topic to fully understand and live by, but we really don’t need much, and believe me, your kids don’t need much either. So, beware of just buying more and more for your kids, and think of creating memories instead. It’s what they’ll remember most anyway!Get your SHOPPING 101 Guide Here!
As they say, “The most important things in life aren’t things.” Let’s keep it that way.
May your upcoming holiday season be simply wonderful!
